“Dreams don’t work unless you do“ – John C. Maxwell
Everybody constantly says, “Follow your dreams!” But it is not as easy as it sounds. Following your dreams usually requires you to step out of your comfort zone and conquer your fears. It requires courage, compromise, and discipline. But it will always be worth it in the long run.
Here are some reasons why you should take the risk and step into the mysterious land of dreams:
1. Dreams make life worth living
Your dreams are what gives your life flavor and color. When you find a dream worth fighting for, it becomes a crucial part of your life, and it gives purpose to your everyday tasks. You walk with the knowledge that you are working for a bigger purpose than the one on the surface.
2. Partner with other dream seekers
When you are passionate and enthusiastic about pursuing your dreams, you’ll draw other dream seekers. This helps you stay motivated and to work through the struggles. We all need people around us to push us beyond our own limits and believe in the impossible. People who will be there when you feel like quitting and help you continue with your vision.
3. Become inspiration for others
When you risk yourself, your security, your stability, etc., to follow your dreams, other people feel encouraged to do the same. A single person’s bravery inspires other to step out and conquer their own challenges. Dream seekers become sources of hope for those struggling with fear and help them believe they can do it as well.
4. Improves productivity
Working on something you love makes your days go by faster. As Confucius so clearly states, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This is a reality that few people dare to discover, but those who do, understand that no money can but the satisfaction of getting up every day to do what you love and do it for a living.
5. Only you can do it
No one else is going to follow your dreams for you. What comes out of your heart is unique and extraordinary. Don’t ever settle for the dreams of other, search for your own and be intentional. We only have one life to live, and we all have a unique way to impact our environment. Discover what you love and do it often.
