As our family’s back to school preparation began, we wanted to be prepared in our attitudes and in our backpacks! This week we took our reliable Make it a Great Day Bag shopping for school supplies!
The Make it a Great Day Bag was the perfect companion to store our loads of items. We grabbed all of the items we needed to make copies of and headed out for our day of preparations. With 4 children in 7th grade, 4th grade, 1 st grade and Kindergarten we had a long list of supplies! In addition to the supplies we needed, we also needed to make a lengthy stop at our local copy center to get our home learning center stocked and ready for a new year of learning.
Having been a classroom teacher myself, I understand the importance of parents being involved in their child’s day to day learning. So we like to have extra copies of student worksheets on hand for extra practice as well as keeping up with vocabulary and spelling practice! After our visit to the copy center we made our way to the office supply store and slowly gathered our supplies.
Here is what we loaded into our Make It a Great Day Bag for our School Supply Shopping Trip!
6 large books to take to the copy center (for copying the student resource section). Once we finished at the copy center we loaded the 6 books and the copies back into the bag. Then, we piled in all of our purchases as well.- 2 large, 3 inch size, Notebook Binders.

- 2 packs of pens
- 2 bottles of white glue
- 1 pack of colored pencils
- 1 pack of page protectors
- 2 packs of notebook dividers
- 1 package of notebook paper
Just about the time we paid for our haul, the rain began to fall and the car was not close enough! Even though we had our Make it a Great Day Bag packed full, I still had room to pull the drawstring shut tight. I loosened the straps on the backpack portion and slung the bag on my shoulders. Off we went through the rain to the car.

We know that at any moment we could find a use for the Make It a Great Day Bag! For this reason we like having one in the car at all times. We also like to have one stored in an easy to reach place at home. The Kids know where its stored and they grab it for play almost as often as I grab it for work!
